The Mission: Launch 1,000 Music Careers

The Mission: Launch 1,000
Music Careers

Producer Dojo was founded by artists, for artists with the dream of launching 1000 music careers and it’s off to a great start so far.

In an industry plagued by gatekeeping and nepotism the Producer Dojo is a beacon of integrity which has drawn in a thriving and successful community of artists who know we can build a better future. By sharing knowledge, tools, connections and camaraderie in an environment built on collaboration rather than competition we are living proof that a better world is possible.

The Dojo is the #1 place for musicians to learn, grow, and get paid. The Producer Dojo Max membership covers the learning part but the elite Class Of 808 level is all about growing and getting paid.

We could spend all day telling you that the Dojo is a magic pill that will fast forward to the finish line - because in many ways it is - but your success requires much more than just making great music. Enter the Class Of 808.

Success Stories

EyeOnEyez

EyeOnEyez had never finished a track. Now he has shocking amounts of followers and has worked with a dream list of everybody’s favorite rappers, including: Prodigy from Mobb Deep, members of the Wu-Tang Clan, T.I., Gucci Mane, 42 Dugg, and more.

RIP KENNY

RIP KENNY wanted to do a rebrand and new project and he found a totally innovative new style. He ended up working with 42 Dugg and on an EP with EPROM. He also got to open for The Glitch Mob.

Eko Zu

Eko Zu had always been involved in music, but had not launched his project, but with the help of the Dojo he got awesome management and his project took off. He has hundreds of thousands of plays on his tracks and he’s playing giant venues all around America. He has gone on to work with The Glitch Mob, Seal, and many others.

Ravenscoon

Ravenscoon had started his DJ career but wasn’t really getting much traction. With the skills he learned from the Dojo he went on to build a thriving fanbase and is now selling out shows on a regular basis.

HEXIS

Hexis had never made a track before the Dojo. Now he has built a solid fanbase and has played many shows.

Future Twist

Future Twist started as students in the Class of 808 during their senior year of highschool - posting tracks on their YouTube page, which nobody listened to. Today they have labels asking for them by name, an exciting all-original set for live shows, and collabs with Artists they used to open for.

6TH STREET

6TH STREET had never finished a track before joining the Dojo. Now he's on youtube with millions of hits working with his favorite dance crews and childhood heroes. He created an incredible music video that was directed by ill.Gates and did an official Gucci Mane remix that was promoted by Insomniac.

Mufunka

Mufunka had never finished a track and was struggling. He did 5+ rounds of feedback on a cypher, made it onto that cypher, and then was contacted by one of his favorite record labels within his first month of being at Producer Dojo.

The Class of 808 Growth Accelerator

The Class of 808
Growth Accelerator

Okay, so you can make great music.. What’s next?

There is a big difference between having some dope tracks and having your brand, team, and your processes ready to build your fan base. In the all new Growth Accelerator you will gain access to the tools and training required to get some real traction with your music and make your brand a success.

3 Sessions with ill.Gates

In this cohort of The Class Of 808 you will get real time access to exclusive coaching sessions with ill.Gates himself as he leads you through the steps to reach the next level. These three sessions will show you around The Class Of 808, teach you how to build a unique brand that resonates with your audience, and then show you how to create an online business using our amazing new ProducerDJ.com marketplace site, a uniquely effective one stop shop that takes all the hassle out of building an online music business.

Elevating Your Style

When you submit music to labels 90% of the rejections are matters of STYLE and not execution. In this unique masterclass you will gain a much deeper understanding of the elements of style, taking your game and especially your fan engagement to a whole new level. This is quite literally the ONLY style masterclass for electronic musicians that is available anywhere!

How to Release Music Independently

In this course Dojo luminary Spiderhound takes you through everything you need to know to distribute and promote your music independently. This is a MUST for all serious musicians, even if you’re on another label you need to understand the mechanics of the release process so you can get the most out of your music.

Modern Music Promotion

We are incredibly lucky to be able to offer this masterclass with full time music industry PR pro Cheyanne Powell. She’s put together an incredible enlightening presentation that walks you through all of the modern promotion methods that industry giants use to become household names.

Branding + Graphic Design

The difference between successful and unsuccessful brands is all in the mind of the audience. When you do everything else properly the only limit to your brand growth is the audience’s perception of your status. Learn what it takes to create a brand that evokes the right image in the minds that matter. Ignore design at your own peril!

Booking Shows and Tours

In this conversation with agent Gregg Sauber you can get access to a professional booking agent’s thought processes when booking talent and routing tours. ill.Gates and Gregg go deep on strategies you can use to turn good will into gigs into tours. This is real industry knowledge no musician should ever be without.

Release Opportunities

The Label Releases area of the Dojo gives you access to real world release opportunities on the Dojo record label, remix and compilation opportunities with outside labels and work opportunities for film, television and advertising. In addition to securing member placements with Star Wars, Gucci Mane, 42 Dugg and Robbie Riviera, we have partnered with Hans Zimmer's protege Zain Effendi (The Dark Knight, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Star Wars, etc.) to secure a regular stream of work opportunities for the biggest clients in the business. This is a direct path to not just millions, but BILLIONS of potential listeners.

EyeOnEyez’ Wicked Mink Records, where Dojo members got the chance to remix Gucci Mane and current Billboard top 100 rapper, 42 Dugg.

Obskure Records, where ill.Gates was asked to curate the Obskurities Vol. 2 compilation

The chance to remix big-name artists and possibly be included on their EP release, most recently being, Herbalistek's Nature Grooves EP

Other remix opportunities, such as for "The Private Language" (KJ Sawka's new band), where Class of 808 member, Audiolysis recently landed his remix on the EP with house superstar Robbie Rivera.

Friend of the Dojo, Zain Effendi, has recently started farming out scoring work in the Label Releases section. We are currently under NDA and cannot discuss who we are working with, but last time ill.Gates worked with him, it was for Disney’s Star Wars' Galaxy’s Edge.

Get A+R from ill.Gates personally

If you have what it takes you will get direct access to A+R and career development consultation from ill.Gates directly. This direct access (via ill.Gates’ phone number) is the main reason The Class Of 808 is so exclusive. ill.Gates goes above and beyond for the members who earn it, helping with branding, promotion, career development and even mixing and mastering Dojo member songs. This is not guaranteed, but if you have what it takes the door is open.

Meet Our Distributor: Alpha Pup

Once you get a release over the line you will get distributed by Alpha Pup, who have played an instrumental role in the careers of Tokimonsta, Flying Lotus, The Glitch Mob, Eprom, Tsuruda, Gaslamp Killer, Machinedrum, and Lorn. Alpha Pup was founded by Daddy Kev, who recently won a grammy for his work on the Thundercat album. He has been providing us with promotional support for the releases, business consultation, high-level Spotify playlisting and placements with huge music portals overseas.

Get A+R from Our Release Partners

When you submit to release partners in the Label Releases area you have a chance to get direct written feedback from real clients operating in a professional capacity. If you kill it this typically leads to phone calls etc and a direct relationship with incredibly talented and knowledgeable career musicians. The experience that you stand to gain is priceless and if you get a release over the line then you’d be paid to gain it.

DOJOTV On Demand is a collection of livestreams from our Senseis and ninjas through our Platform DojoTV.

Containing everything from track feedback to production tutorials and live sets, this is the fastest growing collection of videos on Producer Dojo. From Ninjas, to Senseis, and ill.Gates himself we've had loads of live events including our new Feedback Friday and WIP Wednesday, which links perfectly with the Track Feedback you'll be using with the senseis. The weekly download is now over 200 episodes after 3+ years and we fully expect the episodes in DOJOTV On Demand to surpass that by the end of 2021.

unlimited track feedback

Track feedback is such a valuable thing that any producer can have at any skill level. Even I send out tracks for feedback regularly! it's one of the best ways to learn where I can keep improving my production.

In addition to track feedback from the Senseis whenever you like, we also have a recurring stream on fridays with LIVE track feedback from ill.Gates, the Senseis, and special guests from outside the Dojo!

“Track Feedback is essential not just as a feature, but it is a reflection of how the industry and creation truly works in a community setting.

By having others listen into your tracks, it’s like having another pair of ears that can help you find things you may have missed and give you the ability to unlock new ideas based off addressing the track in how another person perceives it.

Iterating through feedback has given me numerous gains in finding new potential in my music by understanding what another person is hearing and digging into new methods to address sound design and composition when compared to the methods taught with Producer Dojo.”

-Knard

"Having skilled producers give your tracks a fresh pair of ears is so invaluable!”

-Kevin (KFiSH)

“Feedback from the mentors has been essential to me growing as an artist/producer. It’s a very long journey and it helps immensely to be able to reach out to someone and simply clarify things.

A great example of feedback for me is learning to let go of ideals and just focus on the best parts of the song. To have someone with no emotional attachment and fresh ears point out the best part of your tracks has been key.”

-Like Water

“The Dojo track feedback has been a real game changer for me. Tracks I would have considered ‘finished’ before the dojo are now usually just first drafts.

The sensei feedback is usually spot on and most importantly, actionable. Many of my releases these days have seen feedback from at least one to three senseis over their course.”

CHOMPPA

I’ve been producing music of different genres for 8 years, mostly bass music for the last 2, but have plenty of experience in the melodic side of electronic music as well, coming from a heavy piano/instrumental background. Since the beginning of last year, I’ve been teaching production privately and it has been a rewarding, eye-opening experience to help so many flourishing producers succeed and learn from them along the way. I can help you grow as an experimental bass producer and focus on adding creative, tasteful intention to your arrangements.
